# Overview of Bhadrak Tourism

Bhadrak is located 140 kilometers from Bhubaneswar. On the 5th national highway. It serves as the district’s headquarters. On the east coast railway, there is a significant station. Bhadrak is magnificent and significant for the Temple Bhadra Kali. This temple was built in the ninth century AD and demolished in the 18th century AD.

During Kali Puja, a large number of pilgrims gathered here to worship the goddess Kali. Maa Banka Basuli Temple and Baba Lokanath Shiva Temple are two temples in the city where one can worship and receive blessings.

There are several Hindu temples in the Bhadrak district, including the Maa Santoshi Temple in Korkora village, the Sri Radha Madanmohan temple, the temple of Akhandalamani, the Kali Puja held at Charampa, and the Prasanna Khemeswar Mahadev Temple in Anijo village. There are also Muslim mosques, including the Sufi Saint Mujahid-e-Millat’s Shrine at Dhamnagar. Khanquah-E-Habibah is another name for this shrine. It is the site of an annual festival known as Eid-Miladun-Nabi.

The district of Bhadrak encompasses an area of 2505 square kilometers. ### Historical & Archaeological Heritage

Bhadrak has a rich historical background that is closely linked to its religious significance and role in regional trade. The district’s history is intertwined with the development of temple culture and the spread of Hindu traditions in coastal Odisha.

Historically, Bhadrak was part of larger administrative regions under various dynasties, including the Mughals and Marathas, before becoming part of British India.
